My Guide to Having a Damn Good Time in Paris

I’m finally back in New York after 2 nights in Milan and 10 nights in Paris. What was suppose to feel like a working holiday quickly turned into a proper work trip with a schedule far busier than I had hoped. Nevertheless, it’s always such a treat to be in these cities. I’ll save more specific recaps for later but for now I wanted to share an abbreviated guide/list of some of my favorite places in Paris. It’s a city that can easily give me decision fatigue given the plethora of incredible restaurants, bars, museums, and stores. In a hope to reduce yours, I present you with a few many of my favorite spots. Enjoy XX

The Guide

Paris can be overwhelming as a tourist. There are so many lines to wait in, selfies to take, museums to walk through…. It’s a city where you can easily walk 5-10 miles a day. All of that exercise will make you hungry… and thirsty. Below you will find a somewhat abbreviated list of my favorite places to grab a coffee, glass of wine, or a bite, as well as a few sights and stays that you shouldn’t miss.

Tea and Coffee

Dreamin Man

One of the first third wave coffee spots in Paris. Cute little shop in the Marais.

Kawa

They take their coffee very seriously at Kawa and it shows. Really incredible spot in the Marais.

Telescope Cafe

Coffee, sandwiches, and pastries in the 1st.

Le Loir dans la Theiere

Amazing pies, tarts, and cakes at this little tea shop. If it’s too busy go across the street to Les Rosiers for equally delicious sweet treats and tea.

Cafe de Flore

OG posh cafe in the 6th. It’s an experience and a great way to spend the morning or afternoon.

Any Tabac, Cafe or Brasserie

Honestly just go to any nice looking cafe, brasserie, or tabac and sit in front and order an espresso. The coffee will not be life-changing but do as the Parisians do. My favorite places to people watch or read a book.

Stay

Hôtel Rochechouart

Fun boutique hotel in the 9th. Affordable rates for the rooms. Rooftop with a fantastic view.

L’hotel Caron De Beaumarchais

Affordable boutique hotel in the Marais. Perfect if you are on a budget and want to stay central.

Le Pavillon de la Reine

A chicer experience in the Marais. 5 star Hotel with stunning courtyard.

Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris

Honeymoon type shit. Get someone else to pay for this. 5 star hotel in the 8th.

The Ritz

More Honeymoon type shit. Probably the most iconic hotel in Paris. Luckily you don’t need to stay there to hit the Bar Hemingway for the best martini of your life.

Airbnbs

I typically stay in airbnb’s if I am in Paris for more than a few days. I prefer to have a little kitchen and the option to do laundry. I would stay in the Marais, 10th or the 11th.
